Another first-generation K-pop group is gearing up for a comeback.

On Monday, Choi Sung-hee -- better known by her stage name Bada -- of girl group trio S.E.S. revealed the group’s plan to make their return next year.

“S.E.S. will be celebrating its 20th debut anniversary next year,” Bada wrote via her personal social media page, with a recent picture of the group. “To commemorate our 20th year, we are planning on creating meaningful experiences to spend it together with ‘Friends.’” The trio’s official fan group is called “Friends.”

The 36-year-old singer, who released her solo single album “Flower” in June, also shared that music executive Lee Soo-man, the founder of K-pop powerhouse S.M. Entertainment, will be contributing to the group’s upcoming projects.

Having debuted in 1997, S.E.S. is generally recognized as the first K-pop girl group to have enjoyed commercial success. The members produced hit tracks, including “Oh, My Love!” and “I Love You,” before disbanding in 2002.

The trio is the third first-generation K-pop group to make a comeback in recent years. In 2014, five-member boy band g.o.d reunited for a concert tour to celebrate its 15th debut anniversary. Most recently, another legendary idol group, Sechs Kies, returned to the K-pop scene after 16 years.
