[THE INVESTOR] The South Korean government will have an annual consultation with Moody’s this week on the country’s credit valuation, the Finance Ministry said on Sept. 5.

Led by Marie Diron, senior vice president at Moody’s, the delegation will visit South Korea for meetings with the ministry from Monday to Wednesday.

They will meet with officials at the South Korean government and state-run think tanks including the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, the Financial Services Commission and the Korea Development Institution.

The company will look into South Korea‘s macroeconomic policies, including its mid- and long-term plans, and financial issues like household debt and corporate restructuring, according to the finance ministry.

The country’s fiscal health and financial stability will be also on the check list, along with geopolitical situations like North Korean issues, added the ministry.

Moody‘s upgraded the rating for South Korea to “Aa2” in 2015, the third-highest level on the company’s table, while Standard and Poor‘s also gave a grade hike to “AA” last month. Fitch has maintained the fourth “AA-” grade for Asia’s fourth-largest economy since June 2012.

After the meeting with Moody’s this week, the South Korean government will have completed its consultation sessions on rating assessment with the three global rating appraisers, following ones with S&P in April and with Fitch in August.
