Samsung SDS, the IT solutions unit of Samsung Group, is seeking to bolster its big-data analysis related business, the firm said Tuesday.

The company plans to expand the use of its data analysis platform named Brightics, which has proved its worth by handling various tasks and cutting down hours required for data analysis to about 20 minutes.

Samsung SDS President Hong Won-pyo said that the system was produced “on the back of data analysis skills acquired in manufacturing, finance and logistics.“

It also joined hands with a global data analysis company SAS Korea to create synergy. Through the joint venture, Samsung SDS will provide necessary tools for big-data analysis, while SAS plans to share its experience in managing data analysis for some 80,000 clients.

“Samsung SDS will continue to work together with other global data analysis providers like SAS to expand our business,” Hong said.
