[THE INVESTOR] SK hynix, South Korea’s second largest chipmaker, said on July 12 that it will announce its earnings for the April-June period on July 26.

The company will also hold a conference call for investors on the same day to discuss its business portfolio and forecast for the latter half of this year.

Due to tumbling prices of DRAM over the past couple years, the SK Group affiliate is expected to post around 450 billion won (US$392.01 million) in operating profit, down 67 percent from the same period last year, according to market reports.

In the third quarter, the chip business will likely see its operating profit fast improve as DRAM prices pick up momentum.

SK hynix and its compatriot rival Samsung Electronics take up 74.7 percent of the global DRAM market.
