Korea's largest internet portal Naver is the most-preferred employer among college students this year, the second consecutive year of the honor for the company, a survey said Thursday.

Job information site Incruit canvassed 1,357 college students in search of jobs and found 10 percent of them named Naver as their No. 1 choice among 160 firms to pick from. The company was generously assessed for its growth, development potential and corporate vision, Incruit said.

The next choice was CJ Cheiljedang, a leading foods and beverages company, with 4.5 percent. No. 3 went to cosmetics-maker AmorePacific with 4.3 percent.

Samsung Electronics ranked fourth on the list at 3.7 percent, up two places from last year. The top 10 list included three public corporations, including the Korea Electric Power Corp. at No. 6.

The results suggest that young job seekers, while pursuing their personal goals, are more influenced by job security, Incruit said in its interpretations.

For the business group category, the students picked CJ Group as their favorite for the second year in a row at 22.7 percent.

Samsung Group came in second with 20.7 percent. They were followed by LG Group (10.4 percent), Shinsegae Group (9.3 percent) and Hyundai Motor Group (8.1 percent).

By industries, Hyundai Engineering and Construction was the most preferred employer in the construction sector, as was KEPCO among public agencies.  Kookmin Bank topped the financial industry, Hotel Lotte for department stores and retail, and Asiana Airlines for logistics.

The survey was conducted online from June 16-28 with a plus-minus 3.39 percent margin of error. (Yonhap)
