[THE INVESTOR] South Korean network operator KT has supported Korean start-ups to make a successful debut at the Mobile World Congress Shanghai 2016, which kicked off on June 29.

KT has spared some of its exhibition space for fledgling Korean start-ups -- Spring Wave, ESMLab and MiscoNCT -- to display their products and services while offering an interpreting service for the companies to help them communicate with investors from China.

“Through this kind of overseas exhibition, we will try to help more IT start-ups to get an opportunity to expand their businesses in other countries,” said an official from the network operator, which has long helped Korean ventures to participate in global IT exhibitions such as the World IT Show.

At the MWC, MiscoNCT showcased its mobile solution that helps drivers find empty parking lots.

Meanwhile, KT has displayed its next-generation network technology, or 5G, at the MWC, which is 60 times faster than the existing Long-Term Evolution, an air quality managing solution, and virtual reality content. The exhibition will held until July 1.
