Pigeon, a local household product supplier, has released NEW Act’z Perfect Solution, the latest product under its signature brand Act’z, to suit Korean consumers’ growing demand for a detergent that effectively washes off stains left from Korean food.

Act‘z Perfect Solution is the first liquid detergent product manufactured for Korean food stains, developed after much research, the company said.

Pigeon asked Gallup Korea, a local pollster, to conduct a survey on Koreans’ favorite food. Kimchi stew, bean paste stew, bulgogi and bibimbap were among the top 10 Korean foods. The company began studying the ingredients of those Korean dishes to find substances that effectively removed the stains from clothes and other fabric products.

Pigeon also added seven types of enzymes, including protease ,which quickly decomposes protein, amylase, which resolves starch in rice and gochujang (red pepper paste), and pectinase, effective for removing juice coming from fruit and vegetables.

In a joint project with its counterparts in Denmark and Japan, the Korean firm ran a series of tests over the last three years to find the best enzyme combination for removing protein substances from fabrics as well as sticky starch substances.

Based on palm oil extracts, Pigeon also added anti-bacterial substances from grapefruit, yuzu and eucalyptus and excluded harmful components such as benzophenone, fluorescence brightening agent and phosphate.

“With just small portion of the liquid, Act‘z Perfect Solution provides superb cleaning power and therefore, the product is an economical choice for customers,” the company said in a statement.

A 2 liter-Act’z Perfect Solution is on sale at discount market chains, online malls and convenience stores across the country.
