A man who stabbed his wife to death was given 22 years in prison on Thursday.
According to the Chuncheon district court, the 34 year-old man had been fighting with his wife in front of their apartment management office. He had accused her of adultery. Unable to control his anger, he had stabbed her multiple times resulting in her death.
The court determined, “Although the defendant was heavily intoxicated beyond reasonable state, he brutally murdered his wife, ignoring her desperate plea for life.”
The man was also found guilty of interfering with police affairs. He had shown unconstrained violence against police at the scene of the crime and had to be taken down by force with a taser gun.
