North Korea said Thursday that it has made remarkable strides in the past three years after it adopted the "byeongjin" policy of simultaneously pushing for nuclear development and economic growth.

Pyongyang's claims were revealed in a detailed report by a think tank under the ruling Workers' Party of Korea as the country marked the third anniversary of the North's decision to pursue its two-pronged policy goal.

According to the North's official Korean Central News Agency, the National Reunification Institute under the party's United Front Department, which handles inter-Korean affairs, said the country has achieved "miraculous successes startling the world in the building of Juche-oriented nuclear force as well as economic prosperity."

Expressing allegiance toward North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, the institute's report said, "Under his energetic leadership, the people's dreams and ideals have come true on this land and miracles and events heralding the omen of prosperity have taken place one after another in the DPRK over the past three years."

DPRK is the acronym of the North's official name, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

The report continued, "Marshal Kim Jong-un wisely led the drive for bolstering up the nuclear force, boldly foiling the moves of the U.S. and its followers to stifle the DPRK."

Kim Jong-un adopted the "byeongjin policy" on March 31, 2013, at the plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party. At the time he said the goal of the policy was to create a prosperous socialist state through economic construction.

According to the KCNA report, the institute's report referred to the fact that the international community and people of different social standings in South Korea "recognized the DPRK's nuclear capability and expressed admiration at this."

"It is a revolutionary strategy and landmark of the WPK to achieve a final victory in the decisive battle with the U.S. imperialists, a sacred war for national reunification and the building of a thriving socialist nation without fail through the simultaneous development of the two fronts," the report said.
