South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se has expressed his "deepest condolences" to the victims of Tuesday's terrorist bombings in Brussels, the Foreign Ministry said Thursday.

In a message to his Belgian counterpart, Didier Reynders, Yun said that he was "shocked" to hear about the "heinous" acts of terrorism that killed more than 30 people and wounded hundreds, according to the ministry.

Stressing that South Korea stands "firmly in solidarity" with Belgium and the international community in fighting terrorism, Yun condemned the attacks as "atrocious and unjustifiable" acts that caused innocent deaths and injuries.

Yun plans to visit the Belgian Embassy in central Seoul on Thursday to pay his condolences to the victims of the attacks.

As of yet, there are no confirmed South Korean casualties, the ministry said. (Yonhap)
