A South Korean man was found dead outside of an apartment in Peru, the South Korean Embassy and a local newspaper said Monday.

The 34-year old man surnamed Jeong was found in the early morning hours on Feb. 16, lying in the flower bed of an apartment building where he had been staying in Lima, according to Peruvian daily El Comercio and the South Korean Embassy.

El Comercio reported that Jeong had been drinking with two South Korean colleagues before he fell from the 11th floor of the apartment.

The newspaper quoted policemen and witnesses as saying he had two marks that appeared to be bullet or stab wounds on his left leg. He was wearing shorts and a short sleeve shirt at the time he was discovered, it reported.

Prior to his death, the three South Koreans were in business talks on video game companies in Peru starting from the eve of the accident and lasting until early the next morning, according to El Comercio.

Peruvian police were investigating the two other South Koreans for the exact cause of the accident while conducting an autopsy and forensic examination. (Yonhap)
