Hyundai Motor's PHEV engine picked as one of world's top 10

An eco-friendly power train of Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea's leading automaker, has been selected as one of the global top 10 engines by a major U.S. automotive magazine, the company said Friday.
WardsAuto included the power train used in Hyundai Motor's Sonata plug-in hybrid vehicle in its world's top 10 engine list, according to the automaker.
This marked the second straight year that Hyundai Motor's eco-friendly power train has made the list. In 2015, the power train used in the Tucson fuel-cell model was picked as one of the top 10.
Hyundai Motor unveiled the Sonata PHEV, its first PHEV model, in the Korean market in July and started its sales in the United States in November. (Yonhap)
