Hyundai, Kia to unveil Avante, Sportage in North America

Hyundai Motor Co. and its smaller affiliate Kia Motors Corp. will unveil their latest editions of the Avante and the Sportage at a motor show currently underway in the United States, industry sources said Wednesday.
Hyundai Motor set up a booth in which it will showcase a total of 17 vehicles during the Los Angeles Auto Show that kicked off on Tuesday local time. Kia Motors put 31 vehicles on display during the event.
Of them, Hyundai Motor's latest edition of the Avante subcompact and Kia Motors' Sportage sport utility vehicle will debut in the North American market during the motor show that will last until late this month.
The latest editions of the Avante and Sportage hit the market here in South Korea last September.
Most of the Avante to be sold in the U.S. under the name Elantra earlier next year will be manufactured at a plant in Alabama. The official sale of the Sportage in North America will also start early next year, the sources said. (Yonhap)
