“Hyperconnectivity” has been the keyword of IT-related industries this year. Connectivity is happening in every possible way in our lives, not only between humans, but also from human to things, and things to things (so-called Internet of Things).

This phenomenon made SK Telecom think about the actual value of connectivity. In the world where we can connect to whomever and whatever we want, are we really connected?

SK Telecom felt a massive responsibility to reevaluate the meaning of real connectivity and to share it with the public.

As a result, SK Telecom launched a campaign dubbed “We believe in the Power of Connection” and the first project “Travel around the country only with the connection of humanity,” where SK Telecom tried to see how far and how long a person can travel without money or transportation, based only on the genuine kindness and power of connection from the public. Korean actor Jung-woo, who travelled 4,724 km for 31 days, was connected to 737,197 people online and offline, and was able to witness generosity firsthand from people and the power of connection.

SK Telecom aims to not only connect people with cutting-edge communications technology, but to connect people’s hearts. The company’s goal was well reflected in the campaign and was successfully delivered to the public.

To that end, SK Telecom has been achieving the fastest connecting technology in the past three decades, and will work even harder to appreciate the real value of connection.
