Hanwha Life is working to developing talent with a vision to become the “top insurance company in the world,” company officials said.

Hanwha runs several programs to increase competitiveness of their employees, largely focused on developing their professional capabilities.

Company officials said the firm offered systematic programs aimed at fostering business leaders, and also provided assistance for overseas MBA courses and evening courses at Korean universities to support the development of professional investors.

There are also programs to help staff obtain underwriting certificates and to benchmark successful overseas cases through connections with reinsurance companies.

Staff with experience abroad are placed in departments that help them continue their overseas networking, and are given assistance in foreign language classes and tests.

Leading employees are also selected as future leader candidates and are given additional training in leadership, marketing and business strategies both online and offline

Hanwha Life’s “Innovation School,” which runs two hours twice a month in the form of lectures and discussions, teaches staff about trending issues such as big data, Internet of Things and health care. The program has a high participation rate, with 100 employees selected for the classes on a first-come-first-served basis.

The company also runs online open courses on subjects ranging from business to health and the arts.
