The outlooks for Korea’s electronics, information technology and construction industries are bright for the fourth quarter of this year, according to a local business lobby group.

In its outlook report released Sunday, however, the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry expected outlooks for other industries to remain gloomy during the period.

KCCI said the electronics and IT sectors are expected to have favorable outcomes thanks to rising demands in new digital devices like smartwatches, as well as market growth for the Internet of Things.

The construction industry is also expected to enjoy a recovery due to relaxed regulations for real estate and vitalized public investment.

However, the automobile, machinery and heavy industries are expected to suffer slowdowns while the shipbuilding sector is forecast to undergo a depression.
