South Korea had the highest ratio of corporate income to gross national income among member countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, data showed Monday.

According to Rep. Park Won-suk’s office which analyzed OECD data, corporate income accounted for an average of 25.19 percent of Korea’s GNI from 2009 to 2013.

That is about 7 percentage points higher than the OECD average (18.21 percent) and the highest out of all OECD countries.

Korea’s ratio of corporate income has rapidly increased since 2000, rising 7.52 percentage points by 2013.

Rep. Park said the government should raise corporate taxes given that Korea has the highest ratio of corporate income to GNI.
