Loc & All, operator of mobile navigation application Kimgisa, gained momentum in its navigation service when it was acquired by mobile messenger and Web-portal operator Kakao in May this year.

Since then, the real-time navigation service has been on the rise, and some statistics unveiled by the operator prove it.

The average daily use of the mobile app during this year’s Chuseok holiday from Sept. 26 to 28, surpassed 10 million, and the app’s use during the three-day holiday was up 330 percent compared to the previous Chuseok holiday from Sept. 7 to 9.

Chuseok is one of the largest traditional holidays in Korea, celebrating a good harvest. There is an en mass migration of people in the cities to their hometowns during the three day period.

The company also said the total number of times the app was used in September exceeded a record 200 million.

“Loc & All beefed up its servers and monitoring systems during the Chuseok holiday to provide seamless navigation services for users,” said Park Jong-hwan, chief executive of the firm, vowing to continue to further develop the navigation app.

Kakao has loaded the navigation service on its taxi-hailing app Kakao Taxi with an aim to create synergy effects between the two mobile services.
