Hanwha Group will host the 13th Seoul International Fireworks Festival at the Hangang River Park in Yeouido, Seoul, on Oct. 3.

The festival, hosted jointly by broadcast station SBS and sponsored by Seoul City and the Korea Creative Content Agency, is one of Hanwha Group’s major social philanthropy activities. Fireworks teams from the United States, the Philippines and Korea will attend and set off over 100,000 fireworks in the night sky.

There will also be firework barges installed between Mapo Bridge and Wonhyo Bridge to provide a wider fireworks display, group officials said.

As over 1 million visitors attend the fireworks festival, Seoul City and various safety organizations plan to increase the number of operating subways.

The Yeouido road will also be closed between 2 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on the day of the festival, and the parking lot at Yeouido Hangang River Park will be closed from 11 p.m. a day before the festival.
