Maestro, a brand from LF Corp., has launched an iron-free shirt that stays wrinkle-free after washing for the fall and winter season this year, company officials said.

Maestro used the functional material from Hong Kong fabric company TAL -- following an exclusive contract in Korea -- for its iron-free shirts.

Company officials said the material has gone through a special steam compression process eight times so that it retains its shape after coming through the wash. The new iron-free shirts have stronger anti-wrinkle properties than its previous wrinkle-free shirts.

The iron-free shirts also have excellent absorption being made from pure cotton, which is unique for a wrinkle-free shirt as they are usually made with polyester or rayon blend. The seam sealing does not fall apart, and does not get lint or change its color.

A Maestro official said he believes the iron-free shirts will be a time-saver for single men or busy double-income households.

Maestro will begin promoting its iron-free shirts in stores from early September. The company also plans to hold an event giving away a packable pouch when people buy two shirts.
