Defense Minister Han Min-koo Wednesday warned of further retaliative actions for North Korea's recent land mine attack in the demilitarized zone besides the propaganda war launched against the enemy.
  

On Monday, the South Korean military launched its loudspeaker broadcasting campaign at the western border area, blasting out anti-Pyongyang messages and other instigating propaganda.
  

This action was taken in retaliation against the North as Seoul blamed Pyongyang for the detonation of three mines in the South Korea-controlled half of the demilitarized zone on Aug. 4.
  

The mine attack maimed two South Korean staff sergeants.
  

"This is not the end, I would say it's just the first step," Han told a parliamentary  defense committee hearing. "I am thinking of more measures, I am considering taking (the measures)."
  

Han did not elaborate on the timing or the method of the additional steps, saying they "need procedures and review."
  

Asked about the speculation that the military would attack a North Korean guard post near the detonation site in retaliation, the minister said nothing has been decided about the idea. (Yonhap)
