Mother’s Corn (www.motherscornworld.com) is an eco-friendly baby tableware brand whose products are made of corn instead of plastic, serving parents’ needs of looking after their children’s health.

Kim Mi-jin, CEO of Mother’s Corn, started the company in 2011, and has now set up a multilingual website with help from Korea’s e-commerce solution provider cafe24 (www.cafe24.com).

The brand has raised its awareness in over 10 countries such as France, Poland, Germany, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Kim, who herself is a mother of two, understood the needs of parents and created the corn-based plates that do not contain harmful ingredients for children.

Kim overlooks the entire line of processes and uses all Korean-made materials for her products, even down to the wrapping paper.

Reaction toward the eco-friendly tableware has been positive. Sales for the first half of 2015 increased by 200 percent compared to the same period in 2014, with over half of its revenue coming from international sales.

Additionally, buyers from northern Europe such as Sweden and Denmark have reportedly offered lucrative partnership deals to the company.

“Our overseas strategy to enter the European market has brought excellent results since European consumers have high preference toward eco-friendly products,” Kim said.

Mother’s Corn plans to add new products on their website including eco-friendly dishwashers, and to expand export markets for the following year.
