South Korea's tech giant Samsung Electronics Co. said Tuesday it plans to pre-install applications and services provided by Microsoft Corp. on the soon-to-be-released Galaxy S6, as well as other Android-powered mobile devices.

Under the plan, Samsung said it will "bring Microsoft mobile productivity services to more consumers and business customers" by installing OneNote, OneDrive and Skype on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.

The two latest models, set to be launched April 10, will also come with 100 gigabytes of additional free cloud storage for two years through Microsoft OneDrive. Samsung said a handful of its tablet PCs will also have Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint pre-installed by June.

Samsung said business-level clients can also enjoy three versions of Office 365 -- Business, Business Premium and Enterprise -- that come with the South Korean giant's KNOX security solution.

"Our goal is to meet the ever-evolving needs of both consumers and business customers and give them more power to discover new mobile experiences," Samsung said in its release. "We believe our suite of premium mobile products coupled with Microsoft's productivity services will offer users the mobility they need in both their personal and business life." (Yonhap)
