Japan Tobacco International, or JTI, was awarded the Top Employer Global 2015 certification at a ceremony in Amsterdam on Monday, company officials said.

JTI is one of the world’s leading tobacco manufacturers, operating in over 120 countries with headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. It sells brands such as Camel, Winston and Mevious (Mild Seven), and saw its core revenue in 2014 at $11.9 billion.

JTI was awarded in recognition of its exceptional employee environment, Top Employers Institute said.

“JTI is a perfect example of a company that has harmonized its operations in a way which has not only benefited its employees but also its operational efficiency on a global scale,” said Top Employers Institute CEO David Plink.

Approximately 80 percent of JTI leaders are appointed internally, and over 800 employees are currently on a long-term, short-term or rotational international assignment, the company stated.
