About 200 union members of SK Broadband’s subcontractors were taken to a nearby police station for interrogation after holding a protest rally inside the company’s building in downtown Seoul on Tuesday.

Earlier in the day, the protesters stormed and occupied SK Corp. building, which houses the broadband unit, to call for improving labor rights.

Witnesses said the workers clashed with security personnel while attempting to enter the SK building in Seorin-dong.

The protesters, who are mainly Internet and IPTV installation engineers, have been on strike since Nov. 20 to demand that SK Broadband modify the terms and conditions of their contracts.
