Established in 2012 in response to the fast-changing business environment, the SSI is composed of smart financing specialists in banking, credit cards, investment, life insurance and data system management.

This year’s team is comprised of 23 members, including employees who have work experience in telecommunications, Internet portals and manufacturing, as well as those who own special licenses such as law credentials.

Their role is to put themselves in the customers’ shoes and to experience the company’s smart finance services, after which they have to suggest ideas for improvement, according to the company officials.

The financial group offers a variety of mobiles services, such as the mobile banking system S-Bank and the smart wallet All That Shopping & Wallet.

Shinhan Smile, an application which sends out a real-time bank statement notice to the user, currently has over 3 million subscribers, officials said.

“Our employees had highly practical ideas to push the boundaries of finance and to deliver tangible customer services,” said Jeon Seong-ho, head of the group’s smart finance department.
