세월호 시신 102일 만에 추가 발견

세월호 실종자의 시신이 102일 만에 선체에서 발견됐다.

민관군 합동구조팀은 28일 오후 5시 25분께 세월호 4층 중앙 여자화장실 주변에서 실종자의 시신을 발견했다.

시신 훼손이 심해 성별이나 옷차림이 뚜렷하지는 않지만 여자 화장실 주변에서 발견된 점 등으로 미뤄 여성의 시신일 가능성이 큰 것으로 구조팀은 보고 있다.

남은 실종자 10명 중 여성은 단원고 학생 3명, 50대 일반인 승객 등 4명이다.

"4층 중앙 복도에서 목격했다"는 생존자의 진술이 있었던 단원고 여학생일 가능성이 있는 것으로 구조당국은 보고 있다.

그러나 신원을 추정할만한 단서가 부족해 DNA 확인 전까지는 단정할 수 없다는 입장이다.

구조팀은 발견 직후 수심 40ｍ가량 아래로 가라앉은 선체에서 시신을 인양하려 했으나 유속이 세져 중단했다.

구조팀은 29일 오전 4시 전후에 인양 작업을 다시 할 수 있을 것으로 전망하고 있다. (연합)

The bill, aimed at revealing the truth behind the accident, caused the ruling and opposition parties to lock horns for months, while families of the victims have taken to the streets to garner support for their cause.
