North Korea clinched two silver medals in the men’s 10-meter running target event at the Asian Games on Thursday.

North Korean shooting trio Pak Myong-won, Jo Yong-chol and Kim Ji-song combined for 1,705 points to score silver at Ongnyeon International Shooting Range in Incheon.

China seized the gold with a total of 1,717 points, while Kazakhstan won the bronze with 1,684 points.

In the team component, the combined scores of three shooters for each country in the individual qualification round determine the medalists.

Hours later, Jo added one more silver for his communist homeland during the individual final competition.

After the semifinal round, Jo went toe-to-toe with China’s Zhai Yujia for the top position in the discipline, but was defeated 6-4.

Pak of North Korea also made it to the quarter-final round, but he missed out on his chance of winning the bronze after being edged out by Bakhtiyar Ibrayev of Kazakhstan.

So far, North Korea has won three medals from the shooting range, including the bronze earned on Tuesday in the women’s trap team event.

In this distance, South Korea left empty-handed in fifth place in the team competition. Neither Jeong You-jin, Cho Se-jong nor Kwak Yong-bin reached the semifinals in the individual event. (Yonhap)
