RiSe of Ladies’ Code was still in critical condition on Thursday, a day after she was in an ill-fated car accident that killed her fellow group member EunB.

“RiSe remains unconscious. There is no progress from yesterday. She is now receiving treatment in the intensive care unit,” said an official from Polaris Entertainment.

Her family, friends and colleagues are hoping for her recovery at the site, the agency said.

On Wednesday, the van carrying Ladies’ Code skidded off the road and crashed into a protective wall on a freeway near Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.

The group members were transferred to a nearby hospital for emergency surgery.

RiSe underwent an 11-hour surgery after sustaining a severe head injury, but the surgery could not further proceed due to low blood pressure. She remains unconscious in the intensive care unit.

The fatal accident left Kwon‘s fellow member EunB dead and Sojung heavily injured.

The funeral for EunB is being held in Korea University Anam Hospital in Seoul.

Meanwhile, the group’s song “I’m Fine Thank You” topped the nation’s major music charts thanks to people who listen to the song in the hope to fulfill EunB’s lifetime dream of “topping the music charts.”

The five-member group is best known for the song “Pretty Pretty” from its second EP. RiSe, Miss Japan of 2009, shot to fame with her cute appearance while taking part in a popular TV audition program.
