SM Entertainment announced on Tuesday that it is preparing to debut a new girl group in August.

The group will consist of four members including current SM trainees Seulgi, Irene and Wendy, all from the predebut team SM Rookies. The last member is a high school senior who resembles actress Kim Yoo-jung, according to the agency.

It will be the first girl group debuted by SM since it launched f(x) in 2009.

Local news media say SM will likely place the concept of the new group somewhere between Girls’ Generation’s mainstream style and f(x)’s experimental style. The agency said it will reveal more information soon, including the group’s concept, debut date and debut title track.

Meanwhile, Seulgi and Irene have already shown their performance skills on YouTube. They sang “Be Natural,” an old K-pop song by S.E.S, in a recent video clip, which received more than 360,000 views within four days.
