Hankook Tires to equip new BMW Minis, Mercedes C-classes

Hankook Tire Co., South Korea’s No. 1 tiremaker, said Tuesday it has been tapped to equip the latest models of the iconic Minis made by BMW and Mercedes-Benz C-class vehicles.
The latest original equipment deal comes as the company has steadily expanded its market portfolio to factory equip new cars made by top German carmakers. The company said shipments to Mercedes-Benz involve the high-end, run-flat and conventional Ventus S1 evo2 tires, which have won several awards in the past.
For the BMW deal, Hankook will equip the latest version of the Mini One, One D, Cooper, Cooper D and Cooper S models, with the Ventus Prime 2 and Optimo H426 as well as offer the Ventus S1 evo2. It said tires with diameters ranging from the basic 15 inches to 16 inches and 17 inches will be supplied for the Minis. (Yonhap)
