The owner of the mobile phone posted the image on his Facebook with the comment “smartphone defected to North Korea.”

He told the online community that he lost his phone and in an attempt to find it, used the GPS tracking service. To his surprise, the GPS showed that the phone was on Seung-li Street, Pyeongyang, North Korea.

Some of the comments include, “That’s Galaxy S3! Didn’t you know it works in North Korea, too,” and “The phone was the spy,” while other netizens expressed a sense of kinship by replying, “Oh! Mine’s in Mongolia!”

Some lost or stolen mobile phones in South Korea are said to be smuggled into Mongolia, North Korea and other Asian nations via China.
