According to a recent survey conducted by Pew Research, 54 percent of female respondents said they use Facebook to view photos and videos, while 42 percent of male respondents said they use it to share with a wide audience.

A total of 39 percent of men use Facebook to see photos or videos, and to see entertaining or funny posts (35 percent). For women, half of them are using Facebook to share content with many people at once. Seeing entertaining and learning about ways to help others followed with 43 percent and 35 percent, respectively.

Facebook, with 1.23 billion monthly active users, turned 10 on Tuesday.
