Samsung Electronics Co., the world's No. 1 maker of smartphones, said Friday it plans to disclose its latest high-end cameras at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show featuring improved connectivity.

Samsung said it will roll out the Galaxy Camera 2, which uses an upgraded 1.6 GHz quad-core processor supported by a massive 2.0 GB of RAM with a 21x optical zoom function, adding to the photographers' conveniences.

The Android-powered camera also boasts 4.8-inch high-definition touch screens, an enhanced battery life of 2000mAh, and pre-loaded applications such as Dropbox, which allows users to save more photos by uploading them on a cloud storage system.

The South Korean tech giant added it will also introduce the NX30 Camera at the exhibition to bolster its smart camera line-up, which is equipped with a 20.3 effective megapixel CMOS sensor and the 3-inch Super AMOLED touch display that offers flexible angles for self-shooting.

Samsung said it has made it easier for the camera to share photos with other devices such as smartphones and tablets on the near-field communication technology, which allows wireless data exchanges between two devices within a short distance.

The company said the Photo Beam will allow an image or video to be transferred to other devices by simply touching the two devices together with no other configuration needed, with AutoShare technology automatically sending all photos taken instantly to

other gadgets.

The CES, one of the world's biggest technology fairs, is scheduled to run between Jan. 7-10 in Las Vegas. (Yonhap News)
