가수 비, 군 복무규정 위반 '무혐의' 통지

가수 비(정지훈)가 서울중앙지방검찰청으로부터 군 복무규정 위반과 관련해 무혐의 통지를 받았다.

비는 지난 12월 일반인에게 군 형법 위반으로 검찰에 고발돼 조사를 받은 바 있다. 이에 검찰은 최근 비의 군 복무 규정 위반에 대해 혐의 없음의 처분을 내렸다.

앞서 지난 11월 말 서울중앙지검은 비에 대한 군 복무 규정 위반 고발 사건을 경찰에서 무혐의 의견으로 송치 받아 조사를 벌인 바 있다. 결국 검찰 역시 무혐의 처분을 내리게 된 것.

한편 비는 최근 할리우드 영화 '더 프린스' 촬영을 마치고 귀국, 오는 1월 6일에 발매되는 새 음반 준비 막바지 작업에 착수 했다.

Rain cleared of misconduct charges over military service

South Korean singer Rain was cleared of charges that he violated the military code of conduct while serving mandatory military service, his agency Cube DC said on Tuesday.

The singer was investigated after a citizen filed a complaint with Gangnam Police Station, accusing Rain of taking time off from service too often and calling for a penalty.

The hallyu star came under close scrutiny and criticism from the public when reports surfaced that he dated actress Kim Tae-hee while on military duty.

According to the Defense Ministry, Rain spent 71 days off duty last year, compared to the average of 43 days given to non-celebrity soldiers. The “entertainment soldier” system was abolished in July after it sparked a dispute over the special treatment of celebrities.

Rain is now working on his upcoming album to be released on Jan. 6 after he finishes filming for the upcoming Hollywood movie “The Prince.”
