Saudi Arabia’s minister of commerce and industry and his South Korean counterpart discussed ways to expand the bilateral trade relationship beyond supplying South Korea with its energy needs on Oct. 20 during a five-day visit to Seoul.
South Korean investment in construction has contributed a lot to the kingdom’s development but what is needed now are investments in automobiles, electronics and information technology, said Saudi Minister of Commerce and Industry Tawfiq Al-Rabiah during the meeting with his South Korean counterpart, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Yoon Sang-jick, according to the Saudi Embassy in a press statement.
Al-Rabiah also visited the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board to discuss South Korean know-how in consumer safety.
He also met with Minister of Government Legislation Je Jeong-boo to discuss legal barriers to enhanced bilateral trade, government regulations, and how the two countries can cooperate on trade regulations.
He also met leaders of the nation’s industrial sector during his trip here, including Oh Young-ho, president of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency.
