    섹스에 적극적인 사람이 돈도 잘 버는 것으로 여 러 분석에서 나타났다고 마켓워치가 17일 전했다.

    영국 케임브리지 소재 앵글리아 러스킨대의 닉 드라이다키스 경제학 교수가 낸 연구 보고서에 의하면 일주일에 4번 이상 성관계를 하는 사람이 평균보다 5%를 더 버는 것으로 조사됐다.

    반면, 전혀 섹스를 하지 않는 사람은 성적으로 왕성한 사례보다 급료가 3%가량 적은 것으로 분석됐다고 마켓워치는 지적했다.

    드라이다키스는 지난 2009년의 브라질 연구에서도 유사한 결과가 나타났다고 소개했다. 그는 "브라질 직장인 연구에서도 섹스 빈도와 급료 간 연계가 확인됐다"면서 따 라서 "경제학자들이 (갈수록) 섹스 문제에 더 관심을 두는 것으로 보인다"고 강조했다.

    드라이다키스도 "동의한다"라면서 "성적으로 왕성한 것은 건강하기 때문"이라고 지적했다.

    드라이다키스는 "고소득자가 데이트 시장에서도 인기있게 마련"이라면서 "개인 적인 성공은 당사자의 성적 욕구도 높인다"고 지적했다.

Sex and income correlated: report

Sexually active workers tend to earn higher incomes than those who are not sexually active, recent research claims.

A research team led by Nick Drydakis at Anglia Ruskin University in Britain said its findings show employees who have sex more than four times a week get 5 percent higher wages, suggesting a possible correlation between sex and average income.

It remains unclear whether there is a direct, causal relation between the two factors.

One possible explanation for the British researchers’ results is that sexually active people are likely to display higher self-esteem and confidence, which could increase the chance of meeting more sexual partners and getting work opportunities.

In addition, sexually active employees may simply be in better shape physically and emotionally. This can lead to more work productivity and creativity.
