Eco-friendliness is becoming an important trend in the construction industry.

World Dome House Co. CEO Shin Jong-ho has come into the limelight for his company’s dome-shaped “passive houses,” which help keep warmth in and maintain the temperature.

“The dome-shaped structure blocks the outside air but makes the inside air flow well and circulate, therefore homeowners can save on air conditioning and heating costs,” said CEO Shin.

Along with the structure, the materials the company uses help keep the temperature at a desired level regardless of seasonal conditions, according to company officials.

The trend of eco-friendly, dome-shaped construction is expected to continue to grow in the coming years as the government suggests more policies on energy efficiency.

Also the structure can be applied to every type of building regardless of where it is located, so the company will aim to penetrate countries suffering from natural disasters such as Russia, Mongolia and Central Asia, company officials added.
