SBS ‘그것이 알고 싶다-사모님의 이상한 외출’ 후속편에 네티즌들이 분노하고 있다.

29일 방송된 SBS ‘그것이 알고 싶다’에서는 ‘사모님의 이상한 외출, 그 후’라는 타이틀로 앞서 5월 방영돼 파장을 일으킨 윤모씨의 여대생 청부살해 사건의 뒷이야기를 공개했다.

이날 방송은 영남제분 회장이 담당 PD를 만나는 장면으로 시작했다. 영남제분 회장은 “11년 전 사건으로 회사 주가가 폭락하고 경영난에 빠졌으며, 이 일로 회사 직원들이 피해를 볼 수 있다”는 이유를 내세웠다.

또 이날 영남제분 회장은 “형 집행정지에 대해서는 한 점 부끄러움이 없다”며 “(윤씨) 아파서 기어 다니더라. 쉽게 (형 집행정지) 받은 것이 아니다”고 덧붙여 해명했다.

그러나 지난 5월 방송 직후 윤씨의 주치의가 있는 세브란스병원에서는 병원장의 공식사과와 함께 진상조사를 위한 교원윤리위원회를 열었다. 또 검찰은 병원을 압수수색하는 등 수사에 들어갔다.

이날 방송에서는 돈과 권력에 무력하게 굴복한 법조계와 의료계를 재조명했다. 제작진이 윤씨의 세브란스병원의 담당의사와 변호사에게 재차 인터뷰를 요청했지만 모두 거절 당했다. 

숨진 하씨의 아버지는 “지금까지는 정말 힘들고 뼈저리게 고독한 싸움을 해왔지만 이제는 온 국민이 다 내 등을 밀어주고 받쳐준다는 생각이 든다”고 SBS와의 인터뷰에서 말했다.

29일 방송은 9.4%로 동시간대 최고 시청률을 기록했으며 30일 포털사이트 검색어 1위를 유지하고 있다.

Furor reignites over murder of innocent student

Public anger has intensified following a TV program aired Saturday about the wife of a listed firm’s CEO using her superior position to avoid the just legal punishment for a murder case she was involved in.

SBS’ “Unanswered Question,” an investigative program, on May 25 exposed the luxurious life of the 68-year-old woman surnamed Yoon, even after she was convicted of murder and received a life sentence.

In 2002, the wife of YoungNam Flour Mills Company’s CEO hired a hit man to kill an innocent college student, falsely assuming that she was having an affair with her son-in-law.

The student was found shot dead by six air gun pellets to the face and the head in Gyeonggi Province. The police investigation found the woman’s son-in-law and the student were cousins.

The second part of the episode on Saturday shed light on the case again, stressing the corrupt judicial world which has lost its authority under money and power.

It exposed additional facts such as the connections among Yoon and doctors, police officers, a prosecutor and a lawyer who were involved in irregularities for the convict’s easy life, including staying in a hospital’s VIP room instead of a cell for the past several years.

After the program aired in May, Severance Hospital in Seoul, where Yoon was staying, held an ethics committee meeting. The prosecution pledged a full investigation into the case and raided the hospital. Civic activists held rallies in front of the medical center against the doctor who gave fake medical certificates to Yoon.   

The victim’s father said, “So far it was a tough and lonely fight but now I have everyone backing me,” during an interview with the broadcaster.

On Saturday, the program drew a viewer rating of 9.4 percent, garnering the highest figure of those airing at the time. It also topped the most-searched keyword rankings on major portal sites on Sunday.
