Korea has the highest rate of high school graduates among members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, according to a report released by the organization on Tuesday.

Nearly 98 percent of Koreans aged 25-34 have completed high school, putting the country first for this age group among the 34 OECD member countries.

But the number of students per teacher stood at 19.6 in elementary schools and 18.8 in middles schools, still higher than the average of OECD members with 15.4 and 13.3, respectively.

The OECD’s “Education at a Glance,” an annual survey, was conducted on 42 countries ― 34 OECD countries plus eight non-member countries ― based on statistics from 2011.
