Dell Korea on Sunday said it will launch a new software-defined-network solution this week called the Dell “Active Fabric manager” which provides management and operational control of a converged network.

The solution has already been unveiled globally, and is awaiting its launch in Korea.

The Active Fabric Manager from Dell is said to be an industry-innovating software tool that automates tasks associated with planning, designing, building and monitoring fabrics to help cut infrastructure operation costs.

The company also plans to introduce its network business strategies for the latter half of this year.

“This will be a chance to showcase Dell Korea’s growing network business, and the expansion of our product lineup following our M&A efforts to ultimately unveil Dell’s corporate strategies for shouldering responsibility for companies’ IT investment,” Dell Korea said.

Dell has been increasingly moving toward IT and network solutions and software in the so-called post-PC age, although PCs continue to give it a steady source of income.

Meanwhile, the company last week rolled out a new, upgraded lineup of desktops and laptops installed with the fourth-generation Intel Core processor ― the XPS8700 desktop, the 14- and 15-inch Inspiron laptops and the Latitude E6540 laptop, which Dell said have been reinforced in terms of both security and management.
