BIS Canada founded in 2008 is the first British Columbia offshore program center in Korea certificated by the BC Ministry of Education.

Located in Bundang, Gyeonggi Province, the school currently offers the BC curriculum from grades 1 to 11 and looks forward to its first class of grade 12’s graduating in 2014.

“BIS Canada’s mission is to offer an outstanding Canadian-based education to Korean national and international students. We encourage our students to strive for high academic achievement while fostering cultural awareness so they can have a positive impact in a complex and ever-changing global environment,” the school said. 

It aims to provide university preparatory programming to pupils in the greater Seoul area.

“Although the curriculum is delivered by BC certified teachers, the diversity of nationalities and cultural backgrounds of our staff provides a dynamic and creative international environment for a quality education,” the school said.

Every province in Canada has its own curriculum with a ministry of education.

BIS Canada’ curriculum comes directly from BC Ministry of Education. It operates a program that meets the criteria of the ministry and undergoes its annual inspection.

There are 29 certified offshore education centers in the world, and 24 of them are in China, according to the school.

“When students are admitted to BIS Canada’s education center, they receive the same education and program as students studying in BC,” the school said.
