Samsung Electronics chairman Lee Kun-hee may have yet another trip abroad soon, this time to Paris, a source said Thursday.
The source said the visit is scheduled for next week, and it comes just a week after he returned from a three-month trip to Hawaii and Japan.
However, a Samsung spokeswoman denied his trip schedule to Europe next week.
The source said Lee may take a look around the Milan Furniture Fair in Italy, then head to Paris. Samsung Electronics is taking part in the 52nd Salone Internazionale del Mobile Milan, more commonly known as the Milan Furniture Fair, which opened Tuesday. Samsung’s exhibition was under the theme, “What a Wonderful World.”
Samsung has officially participated in the fair since 2011, but the connection with the chairman goes back to 2005 when Lee, after taking in the cutting-edge innovation, called upon his staff to upgrade Samsung’s design work.
The chairman is known for his “globe-trotting brainstorming,” for which he often takes leave to ponder challenges and come up with solutions.
