Songdo Good Market, an annual flea market aimed at spreading green and sharing culture in Korea, will be back on April 27 at the Songdo Canal Walk inside the Songdo International Business District in Incheon.

Starting on that day, the 2013 market will continue to be held on the last Saturday of May, September and October from 1 p.m. through 6 p.m., said Gale International Korea, developer of the Songdo IBD.

The organizer said about 300 sales booths will be installed along the main stream where people can freely trade their secondhand goods. Clowns will offer balloon art and face painting services to children. Kinis Toy Clinic will repair toys for free and Nasaret International Hospital will check people’s blood sugar levels for free.

International charity foundation, Korea Food for the Hungry International, will hold events such as football-sewing and experiencing African children’s water-drawing chores as part of its fund-raising program.

A total of 80,000 people reportedly visited the Good Market in 2011 and 2012 and this year’s proceeds will go to English education for children in the rundown areas of Incheon.

Market organizers are receiving application for venders until April 14. Those interested should visit www.facebook.com/songdoibd or call (02) 501-4611.

Visitors to Good Market should take Incheon Subway No. 1 or bus to the Central Park station exit No. 4 and take a free shuttle bus. Drivers can use the Canal Walk underground parking lot or public parking spaces nearby.
