Actress Han Hye-jin has denied rumors that she is planning to marry soccer star Ki Sung-yueng.

Speculation that the two were going to tie the knot in June surfaced soon after Han and Ki confirmed to the press that they were dating.

On Thursday afternoon Han tweeted that the rumors are not true. “The reason I stepped up today is because I felt that I needed to clear up the misunderstanding that is going around at the moment.”

The actress broke up with her boyfriend of nine years, R&B artist Naul, last December, which caused speculation that she had left Naul for Ki.

“I did not hurt anybody at the time when I was starting my new relationship. I know that the time it took me to move on to another relationship was rather short. I understand where the criticisms come from. However, I can assure everyone that I did not hurt anyone in the process.”

About the rumors that said Han and Ki were going to get married in June, the actress said that they have not met formally with each other’s parents and that if they had any plans for a wedding, then she and Ki would be the ones to tell the public.

Marriage rumors first arose when it was revealed that Ki had announced earlier this month on his Twitter account that “the happiest moment” of his life will happen to him in June. The rumors went viral when a media outlet quoted a person close to the couple saying that their parents had met and that they were planning to get married in June.

As news of the impending wedding rose to the top of the most-viewed lists on portal sites including Naver and Daum, Han’s agency denied all the wedding rumors early Thursday. Han’s agency Namoo Actors told an entertainment news channel that the couple’s parents have not met and that it was premature to be talking about marriage.
