Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr was in a neckbrace after being injured in a car accident in Los Angeles, TheSydney Morning Herald reported Wednesday.

Her car was rammed by another car Monday and she was taken tohospital for scans, it said.

The driver of the other car was reported to have been arrested andwas likely to face reckless driving charges.

Annie Kelly, Kerr's Sydney spokeswoman, told the paper that themodel was "thankful that her baby boy, Flynn, was not in the car withher."

"She's in a lot of pain but, really, we're just glad that itwasn't more serious," Kelly said.

Kerr, married to Hollywood heart throb Orlando Bloom, was expectedto resume her modeling work within days. (DPA)

모델 미란다 커, 미국서 차 사고로 부상

호주 출신 슈퍼모델 미란다 커(29)가 미국에서 자동차 사고로 부상했다고 호주 일간 시드니모닝헤럴드가 14일 보도했다.

신문에 따르면 커는 지난 11일(현지시간) 미국 로스앤젤레스의 한 고속도로에서 차를 몰다 다른 차량과 충돌했다.

사고 직후 병원으로 후송된 커는 MRI(자기공명영상) 촬영을 한 뒤 부상자용 목 보조기를 착용했다.

커의 대변인인 애니 켈리는 "커가 지금도 목 보조기를 착용하고 있다"며 "커가 상당한 고통을 호소했지만 다행히 부상의 정도가 아주 심각한 편은 아니다"고  말했다.

켈리는 또 "커가 사고 당시 아들 플린이 차에 함께 타고 있지 않았던 것을 다행으로 여기고 있다"고 덧붙였다.

남편인 영화배우 올랜도 블룸과 함께 주로 미국에서 활동하는 커는 자신이 간판모델인 콴타스 항공사의 새 직원 유니폼 발표 행사에 참석하기 위해 다음 달 시드니를 방문할 예정이다. (연합뉴스)
