A female employee at a residential school in Greater Manchester, Britain was dismissed over an alleged romantic relationship with a teenager, British media reported Sunday.

The 33-year-old woman is believed to have been romantically involved with a 16-year-old boy who had been placed under her care for “attachment issues,” according to the Daily Mail. She had worked as a mental health practitioner for children with behavioral difficulties.

According to the woman’s relative, suspicion of the affair was first raised when the teenager bought her a blouse for her birthday, with a card saying “To XXX, lots of love.”

The two were also witnessed holding hands, and the woman’s acquaintances reported odd behavior from her since the start of the alleged relationship.

The woman had initially denied the relationship with the boy, but the school dismissed her, citing “abuse of position.” She reportedly described her actions as “the biggest mistake of my life.”

Local police recently investigated the woman to see if there was any criminal offense during her alleged relationship with the boy. An official from the police said they were planning to work with children’s services and other agencies to fully investigate the matter.

그 이후 이들은 손을 잡고 있는 장면이 목격되는가 하면, 여성의 지인들은 그녀가 마치 “사랑에 빠진 10대처럼” 행동하기도 했다고 증언했다.

이 여성은 관계를 부인했으나, 그녀가 일하던 기숙학교는 결국 그녀를 해고했다. 여성은 자신의 행동에 대해 “인생 최대의 실수”라고 한 것으로 알려졌다.

그러나 언론보도에 따르면 여성은 소년과 아직 교제하고 있는 것으로 알려졌다. 

한편 현지 경찰은 여성이 소년과 교제하는 과정에서 불법적인 행위가 있었는지 여부를 아동복지국 등 여러 기관과 협력해 수사하고 있다고 밝혔다.
