Korean Air on Tuesday held a special make-up training session for its male recruits in Seoul, marking the airliner’s first such endeavor.

The class, titled “Image making for service men,” introduced tips for work, including basic workplace manners and proper dress code.

The company used to offer make-up lessons for its female crew and flight attendants, but opted to feature beauty tips in the orientation program for its male workers starting from this year.

About 110 new male recruits were given lessons on how to care for their skin and cosmetics.

대한항공, 남성직원에 화장법강의 시행

대한항공은 2013년 대졸 공채 신입사원 114명을 대상으로 서울 강서구 공항동 객실훈련원에서 ‘서비스맨으로서 갖춰야 할 이미지 메이킹’ 강좌를 진행했다고 19일 밝혔다.

이번 교육에서는 서비스 직종에 맞는 남녀 화장법, 복장•품위 유지 방법, 매너 등을 주제로 이론과 실습을 병행했다.

특히 여성 신입사원을 대상으로만 진행하던 메이크업 강의를 올해부터는 남성 신입사원도 이수하도록 했다.

남성 신입사원들은 세안, 보습 등 피부손질법과 피부톤을 보정하는 커버로션 사용법 등 깔끔한 인상을 연출하기 위한 강의를 받았다.

대한항공 관계자는 글로벌 명품 항공사 직원으로서 품격있는 용모와 복장을 갖춰 서비스 경쟁력을 높이기 위해 강좌를 마련했다며 직원들의 품위있는 이미지가 회사 이미지 개선으로 이어질 것이라고 기대했다. (연합)
