IBM Korea on Friday announced strategies to more efficiently work with its business partners in a ceremony attended by more than 500 company executives, including the new IBM president Shirley Yu-Tsui.

IBM is currently working together with more than 1,000 business partners and vendors, while on a global level, its partners now number more than 130,000.

IBM’s main priorities for working with partners involve jointly developing new markets and offering key solutions based on advanced technology, the company said in a statement on Friday.

Among the key strategies IBM initiated for maximizing collaboration with its partners, the company said it plans to strengthen marketing efforts in expanding markets, while accelerating its entry into other provinces within Korea.

In 2012, IBM Korea added seven provincial offices to bring the total to 11 from the previous four.

In general, the company said it will focus on promoting mutual growth with the second and third tier industrial sectors.

Yu-Tsui, formerly general manager of IBM’s global business services for China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, was appointed the new chief executive of IBM Korea earlier this month.
