Nonprofit organization the TIDE Institute is hosting a three-day workshop in English for foreigners planning start-up ventures at Kyungil University next week.

Developers, designers and entrepreneurs are invited to come together to share ideas, form teams, build prototypes and find out if their start-up ideas are viable at the “Start-up Springboard” to be held from Jan. 16 through 18 at the university in Gyeongsan, North Gyeongsang Province.

The event begins with an open pitch session on Jan. 16 in which participants inspire others to join their teams. Over the next two days, the teams build minimal viable products, validate their ideas and perform customer development. On Friday evening, the teams show their prototypes to a panel of experts and receive feedback.

The panel includes Ko San, Korea’s former astronaut candidate and head of the TIDE Institute, as well as venture capitalists and start-up consultants from Korea and the U.S.

Those interested in participating should sign up at www.tideinstitute.org. Accommodation is free and there is no entry fee.
